Webelos (Fourth Grade)
Weeblos In Scouting America's Cub Scout program, a Webelos den is a group of Cub Scouts in the fourth or fifth grade, or who are at least ten years old. These dens are led by an adult den leader and assistant den leader, and they prepare Cub Scouts for the transition to Scouts BSA. Purpose: Webelos scouting focuses on preparing Cub Scouts for the more advanced challenges and leadership opportunities of Scouts BSA. Structure: Webelos dens typically consist of up to eight Scouts, often divided into fourth-grade and fifth-grade groups. Activities: Webelos dens participate in den meetings, campouts (as a den), and other activities designed to foster teamwork, leadership, and a deeper appreciation for the outdoor world. Adventures: Webelos Scouts work on earning the Webelos badge of rank by completing six required adventures and any two elective adventures. Transition: The Webelos program helps Scouts transition from Cub Scouting to Scouts BSA, giving them a taste of what Boy Scouting is like and preparing them for the next step.
